First off, I read your About page and you had me at Bon Jovi. Second, I was thinking of this same thing (the BFF thing, not the Bon Jovi) today. I went to my friend’s baby shower and we haven’t seen one another since her wedding, when I was pregnant with my first kid (I now have two). For a moment I thought perhaps it’d be awkward, like I should have tried to see her more, blah blah, but we just picked right up where we left off. And while we say we’re going to see each other soon, if life gets in the way we can still catch up later and remember how much we miss each other.

This is such a great post. True friends are hard to find and when you do find them, never let go. I’m so glad you got to spend some time with one for a few days. I live an hour away from KC and we love to go there. We drive through Denver all of the time too.

I can so relate! My best friend from grade school just came to visit from Missouri and it was like no time at all had past..we both went thru a week of depression after she went back home. It’s just not fair that best friends have to live so far apart as grown ups!

My best friend lives far away and we get together about every other year somewhere for a weekend. We pick up like we never were apart, but I always worry we won’t since our lives are now so different. BTW – I live in KC:) And I love every place I have ever been in Colorado.

Wow, what a perfect description of a true friendship between women. I have this with my friend J. She lives 7 hours away, but every time we are together it’s as though we’ve spent no time apart. It just clicks. Thanks for reminding me of that feeling through your story.

Oh gosh, why are you changing your own tier?! Do they not have triple A in your neck of the woods? I’d die!
Anyways, I think you’re right about true friends. I have a few of those and the rest I put on the B list. And why are men always trying to fix the problem when sometimes all we want to do is be sad and depressed about it. So annoying!
